For filmmakers and videographers

An authentic film look, in your footage.

I work as a freelance colorist, fully remote, in DaVinci Resolve. One speciality: an authentic, filmic look that serves the story of your footage.

What I do in the grade

Primary correction

The technical foundation: balancing exposure, neutralising white balance and matching shots to each other. Without a solid primary, nothing else holds up.

Creative grade and film look

Based on your brief and references I build a look that fits the mood of the footage. A warm, analogue film look with desaturated highlights and tinted shadows. A cool, clean monochromatic grade. Day for night. Or a look built entirely around your project. No LUT slapped on top, but a grade built from the inside out.

Secondary corrections

Targeted work on specific colours and areas. Refining skin tones, giving a sky more depth, pulling back colours that steal attention. The details that separate a good grade from a great one.

Consistency across the cut

Making shots recorded in changing conditions feel like one piece is often the most work and the most underestimated part of grading. The viewer should never notice.

Cameras and formats

I work with the log and raw formats of the most common professional cameras: Sony S-Log3 (FX3, FX6, FX9), Blackmagic RAW and Film Gen5 (BMPCC, URSA Mini Pro), RED IPP2 (KOMODO, MONSTRO, V-RAPTOR), Canon Log (C70, C300 Mark III) and DJI D-Log (Ronin 4D, Inspire 3). Shooting on something else? Just ask.

Ideally, deliver original camera files or an uncompressed ProRes or BRAW export for maximum latitude in the grade.

How remote grading works

Step 1: brief and footage

Send the original camera files via WeTransfer, Dropbox or Google Drive, with a short brief on the mood you're after. References and moodboards are always welcome.

Step 2: the grade

I grade in DaVinci Resolve on a calibrated display, always on scopes. You get a first version as a preview to judge mood and tone before the final export.

Step 3: feedback and delivery

After your feedback I finish the grade and deliver in the format you need: ProRes, H.264, H.265, or a DaVinci Resolve project including stills.

Send me your project.

A short description and a few references are enough. I reply within 24 hours.
